01 — Quick summary

We use only the storage that is strictly necessary to run this site. The only third-party script that ever runs is Google Analytics 4, and only after you opt in via the cookie banner. Embedded video loads with Do Not Track, so no Vimeo cookies are set on your device.

02 — What we actually store

On your device, in localStorage (not in cookies):

  • Your cookie choice — so we don't prompt you on every page. Stored under "ps-consent". Kept for 12 months.
  • Your language preference — derived from the URL, not stored separately.

We set no first-party cookies. No third-party cookies are loaded without your explicit consent.

03 — Embedded video (Vimeo)

Our showreel and case-study videos are hosted by Vimeo. Every Vimeo embed on this site is loaded with the Do Not Track parameter (dnt=1). With this parameter Vimeo does not set tracking cookies, does not fire analytics events, and does not record session data. The only data sent to Vimeo is what is technically required to deliver the video bytes (e.g. your IP address). Vimeo is EU-US Data Privacy Framework certified.

Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — embedded video is the content you came to see, and DNT removes the tracking aspect. If you would prefer not to load Vimeo at all, you can use a browser-level content blocker.

04 — Hosting (Vercel) and content delivery (Sanity)

Vercel hosts the site and Sanity stores our content. Neither sets cookies on visitors. Vercel logs requests for security and performance and discards them after a short period. Sanity is based in Norway; Vercel is US-based and EU-US DPF certified.

Vercel additionally provides two cookieless measurement features that we leave on by default:

  • Web Analytics — counts page views, referrers, and country. No cookies, no persistent identifier. Aggregates are stored on Vercel's side.
  • Speed Insights — collects Web Vitals (Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint, Cumulative Layout Shift) per route so we can fix slow pages. No cookies, no persistent identifier.

Both are first-party (data flows to a vercel-insights endpoint via the same domain you are on), strictly aggregate, and do not profile individual visitors. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — keeping the site fast and finding problems. You have the right to object: write to roderick@pixelstreet.co and we will exclude your visits.

05 — Analytics — Google Analytics 4

When you opt into the "Analytics" category, we load Google Analytics 4 (GA4) by Google LLC. GA4 sets first-party cookies (typically `_ga` and `_ga_<container-id>`) to count unique sessions and measure which pages are useful. We configure GA4 to:

  • Anonymise IP addresses (anonymize_ip on).
  • Disable Google Signals (no cross-device tracking, no audiences).
  • Disable advertising personalisation (allow_ad_personalization_signals off).
  • Send manual page_view events only — no Enhanced Measurement scrolling, click, or video signals.

Cookies set by GA4 expire after up to 24 months. If you withdraw consent, we set the GA disable flag and immediately delete the `_ga*` cookies on this domain. Google may transfer data to the United States; Google LLC is EU-US Data Privacy Framework certified, and Standard Contractual Clauses apply.

Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

06 — Your choice

You can change or withdraw your cookie choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Withdrawing has the same effect as never having consented in the first place.

You can also clear the stored choice yourself by removing "ps-consent" from this site's localStorage in your browser developer tools.

07 — Browser controls

Modern browsers can block third-party cookies, refuse storage from specific sites, and send Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. We respect any blocking you do at the browser level — nothing on this site tries to circumvent it.
